Portfolio insights

What's moving a specific portfolio, position by position.

Portfolio insights answer "what's happening to my holdings, and why?" They take everything Market insights and Asset insights know and narrow it to one customer's actual portfolio. The read is grounded in Clarity, aware of the positions, and ordered by what matters most.

What you get

A portfolio read considers every holding, most material first:

  • The position: units, value, and profit/loss, in readable currency.

  • The drivers: the catalysts from Clarity moving that holding right now, each cited to its evidence.

  • A cross-portfolio read: concentration, shared exposures, diversification, and how supported global events transmit into the portfolio.

  • Options to consider: two to four non-directive ways to monitor or manage the situation.

Because it knows the portfolio, it speaks to the customer's real positions instead of the market in the abstract. It still explains what the evidence implies and does not issue personalized buy/sell advice.

How it's built

A portfolio read works the book position by position, the way a portfolio manager reviews a client account:

  1. Research the world once. Build the organization's cited daily geo and macro backdrop.

  2. Research each stock once. Connect that backdrop to the company's current catalysts and risks, then reuse the generic stock read wherever the stock is held in the organization.

  3. Read the position. Combine the daily research with the client's live holding and the previous successful position read. This stage synthesizes; it does not repeat evidence research.

  4. Read across the book. Consider every holding and surface performance, concentration, shared exposures, diversification, and supported global-event transmission. Routine positions are summarized together and no more than three stocks are named unless their importance warrants it.

Each layer passes a compact cited brief to the next. Large portfolios are reduced in value-ranked batches before the final roll-up, keeping generation within a fixed context budget and disclosing materially omitted coverage. If today's research is unavailable, the latest successful artifact can be reused with its original date and a staleness signal.

Because it knows the positions, it can override the generic "Clarity doesn't know your portfolio" caveat. It still explains what the evidence implies and does not issue personalized advice.

Holdings model

Portfolio insights run against the holdings, trades, and profile you provide. That is either a persisted portfolio referenced by id, or holdings passed inline for stateless calls. Live prices are overlaid at question time, so values and performance stay current without the evidence going stale. See Portfolio context for the exact shapes.

Integrate

Portfolio insights are delivered through the Clarity card's positions section and the portfolio-aware Clarity chat:

  • Card: the global section is the reusable cited market backdrop; the personalized section explains what it means for the client's portfolio and is followed by options to consider.

  • Chat: supply a portfolio and ask about it. The answer speaks to the customer's positions.

See Integrate Clarity for the card and chat surface, and Embed Clarity to render it in a browser.
