Market insights

A top-down read of what's moving markets, grounded in evidence.

Market insights answer the question "what's happening in the markets, and why?" It is a top-down read built on Clarity. It gives you an analyst-style brief rather than a headline feed: the catalysts moving the market, the themes connecting them, and the names that benefit or suffer.

What you get

A market read is structured the way an analyst would write it, top to bottom:

  • Global & geopolitics: the events setting the backdrop.

  • Macro & policy: rates, inflation, and policy moves shaping conditions.

  • Sector impact: which sectors the catalysts push on, and in which direction.

  • Positioning: the concrete beneficiaries and casualties, the opposite exposures, and how they relate. Each one ties to a real catalyst (earnings, guidance, regulation, a macro print, a supply-chain shock, or a named geopolitical event).

Every claim carries an inline citation, and the answer leads with the conclusion rather than recapping sources one by one. A staleness indicator shows how recent the freshest evidence is.

How it's built

A market read is assembled the way a desk analyst works a question, rather than scraped from a headline feed:

  1. Frame the question. Determine whether you're asking what's happening now, what drove a move, or what a development affects next, then set the time window to match. A live question narrows to the last few days so it isn't drowned by history. A structural question keeps the window wide.

  2. Map the entities. Resolve the companies, sectors, people, and events the question touches, by name and by meaning.

  3. Trace cause and effect. Follow causal links forward and backward (what drove an event, and what it drives next), bridging the two sides of a question even when they aren't directly connected.

  4. Weigh the evidence. Rank facts by confidence and recency, so recent, well-supported evidence leads while durable reference facts don't decay out.

  5. Anchor to the market. Overlay live price, performance, and volatility for any name in play, and resolve a tradable proxy for commodities, indices, or currencies that have no direct ticker.

Analytical discipline

Every read is held to the standard an investment professional would expect:

  • Grounded. Each claim cites its source. Nothing reaches beyond what's been ingested.

  • Causal. A price move becomes a view only when the evidence explains it. Price action alone is never turned into a thesis.

  • Self-reviewed. Before a read is finalized, it's checked for figures that lack a stated driver, conclusions that overreach the evidence, and gaps that should be disclosed rather than smoothed over.

Partial coverage

Market insights answer only from material Clarity has ingested. When the evidence is thin, they say what's known and name the gap rather than inventing a link, and when nothing matches directly they surface related themes. To fix a recurring gap, ingest more source material rather than retuning the read. See Clarity.

Integrate

Market insights are delivered through the Clarity card's market section and the Clarity chat:

  • Card: the marketContext section summarises what's moving the market, above the fold.

  • Chat: ask a market question and stream a grounded answer with citations and follow-ups.

See Integrate Clarity for the card and chat surface, and Embed Clarity to drop it into a browser.
